For me, at ED presentation I think I’d almost always order VS, blood pressure cuff and BP reading, pulse ox with O2 reading (and supplemental O2 if applicable), cardiac monitor and/or ECG, IV placement.

That being said, you SHOULD prepare a list of generic orders that’s applicable for most people when they arrive, as well as when you’re discharging. You can’t have all of the orders for every scenario memorized - you’ll just have to trust your knowledge and clinical experience to navigate each case correctly based on the presentation. I went through the cases and took notes on each one to review before test day. That being said, as far as preparation for the actual material, I think you’ve got to use UWorld because, well, it’s about all there is. Maybe that was just my unique testing experience though. I personally didn’t feel like UWorld was an adequate representation of the cases. I went through these 6 cases twice to be sure I wouldn’t be in for any surprises. It’s the best for learning the exact user interface so you’re not hit by anything UI-related on test day. Regarding learning the system, you should definitely go through the 6 cases or whatever on the ccscases website.
